The new Student Activities Center Project is seen as gateway to remainder of the campus. Proposed design reflects historical agricultural background of school, and integrates with interior design at building entrances. Landscape / exterior design included rows of grasses / small stone bands, as a “nod” to the agricultural background of the school; as well as reducing coefficient of runoff and masking the extensive drywell complex for detention below the surface. Exterior pavement patterns extend out from / reflect building interior elements.
Design achieved a Silver rating for LEEDs.
Project received 2014 Long Island Chapter AIA Award Commendation.
