Burchfield Penny Art Center Museum: Site / Landscape

Burchfield Penny Art Center is a pedestrian oriented site within major
college campus. Project included overall design and siting of building in juxtaposition to other museums adjacent to campus. Site supports overall concept of building as a piece of sculpture.

Site design focus was a setting / pedestal for new building as a sculpture.  Building sited at a skewed angle in order to differentiate from surrounding campus grid. Significant site elements helped to achieve LEEDS Silver rating. Use of local building materials to reduce site costs.
